Styling Winter 2022 Fashion Trends
When it comes to styling an outfit, it’s fun to be unexpected — and when is there a better time to play around with your wardrobe than the holidays?
I find the most fulfillment in my outfits when I’m not only on trend but still just a little bit different. Following trends and exhibiting a general fashion sense is only one piece of the puzzle and then, on the other hand, there’s creativity and individuality.
Way too often people are trying to replicate a look they saw someone else wear and thought was cute… on them. When I find myself trying to do this it often results in frustration or disappointment because I’m not meeting my own unrealistic expectations when the point is really just to inspire you to create outfits that are not only trendy but also your own so that you can show up as your best self.
One of the best parts about using your creativity with styling is mixing trends.
You don’t have to choose between styles or stick to a single trend because fashion is about taking risks and you have the power to make it your own. I personally love this look by Anna Winck mixing a sheer moment with the fall-wardrobe-staple tall boots. I love how this look serves edgy yet simple and it’s perfect for a night out during the holiday season with the bit of glam you get on the slip.
Now here’s an outfit you could find me in in a heartbeat —

I love a good oversized blazer for any occasion; it’s such a transitional piece that can take any outfit from “meh” to on point.
I could see wearing this outfit to a casual holiday daytime event straight into a date night. Or throw on a cami underneath for more coverage and I would even wear this to the office.
Again, with the bit of glam, you made this look suitable for the holidays, however, it doesn’t have to be the sparkle that does this. Maybe it’s something metallic or with some bow embellishments or a pop of color (ie red with it being THE color of winter 2022). Whatever it is, take a statement piece, throw on an oversized blazer, and off you go.

It’s giving cool girl.
What screams winter more than a fur coat? This simple addition to endless base layer possibilities can take any outfit from everyday to holiday spirited.
Once again, I love the mixing of trends Alice Fetisova is using with this outfit from the western-inspired tall boots to her vintage bag and then topping it all off with an oversized jacket to make something truly unique. I would wear this outfit to an outdoor Christmas market or ice skating with friends or family and be both on trend and warm.
Look how quickly this fuzzy hat turned a cute casual outfit into something winter chic!
Because why not take a winter necessity and make it stylish and fun? It really can be as simple as that. Sometimes it can be the smallest details that make the biggest difference. If you have a realistic budget and can’t upgrade an entire wardrobe for a season, just add a few fun pieces, such as this cozy hat, and voila!

We are sticking with the warm and fuzzy vibe with some leg warmers!
Leg warmers have made their way back and make another easy addition to your winter wardrobe this season. Sofia Coelho is styling hers over tights (I recommend Swedish Stockings for their quality and sustainability initiative) with a cute pair of loafers and an oversized fuzzy sweater. Effortless!
If you don’t like how hats look on you and leg warmers aren’t quite your thing, maybe roses are —
These necklaces from Heaven Mayhem have put a whole new twist on chokers that I am loving! Look how Pia Mance took a little black dress and added this crimson rose that just made it a perfect formal event outfit for those wintery months.
Whether it’s fur, florals, bows, or something else completely, accents such as this are a budget-friendly and easy way to turn any look into the perfect holiday outfit.
On the other hand, you’re ready to go all out and make a statement.
Let us take a moment for this set from Rezek Studio. Nothing makes a statement more than a color-blocked set. This stunning example has had eye my eye since last season and has had everyone who’s put their own spin on this set looking completely snatched. The best part about a set is you’re mostly done. All that’s left is adding those personal details and with plenty of festive colors to choose from, you’ve got yourself a no-brainer.
